UI/UX Developer -

UI/UX Frontend developer for Qraved.com

Qraved.com is a smart, social dining directory that lets you share and Qrave mouthwatering dish photos from thousands of restaurants and discover your next amazing dining destination. Qraved recommends you dishes and restaurants based on the Qraves that you create and the people you follow.

My main role at Qraved.com is UI/UX Developer. I work in close coordination with the UI/UX Lead and the Developer team to develop pixel-perfect HTML/CSS/jQuery qraved.com website (all funnel, responsive tablet and mobile). I work with two other UI/UX frontend developers who are located in Qingdao, China.

Qraved.com is a startup company, the company culture is very friendly and we work as a family. The major challenge as a UI/UX developer here is that I have to possess both designer and developer mindsets. As a UI/UX person, pixel-perfect detail is important to me. But as a developer, I have to ensure that the code is viable to be developed by the backend developer.

It is really difficult to balance design and code. As a bridge between the business design idea and the development, I communicate a lot with the UI/UX lead and other developers to ensure the design matches the code framework. Here, we use bootstrap and less as the UI code framework and angular as the JS framework.

Project management also play an important role to ensure the work load balance between the business timeline and the developer capacity. I work in collaboration with the project manager who is based in Qingdao, China to ensure the product is delivered on time as per the business and marketing plan, I do believe that lean UX and framework guideline are important.

To support the business and marketing ideas for qraved.com, I manage a lot of layouts, such as qraved event landing pages, qraved facebook widget, qraved vendor management system dashboard and many more.
